A new twist on cinematic drums, Monolith is the result of bringing a massive collection of rare drums into AIR Studios' legendary Lyndhurst Hall—all under the direction of the one and only Richard Harvey. He's approached Monolith with his customary attention to detail and unrivaled passion for capturing the essence of unique and extraordinary instruments. Monolith represents the fulfillment of a dream for Richard, bringing his entire collection of rare, unique, and antique drums into one room. To bring these beautiful instruments to life, we assembled a handful of London's top percussionists.

During a break in the recording, Daniel Ellis and Angela Wai Nok Hui took a few moments to talk to us about their experience creating Monolith.

The recording sessions at AIR Studios were designed with two goals in mind. For starters, Richard wanted to commit this truly unique set of instruments to tape so that composers everywhere can use them.
