Adaptive Legato
- Slurred expressive Legato
- Agile, fast Legato -scripted
- Fast Runs Legato
- Portamento Legato
Velocity allows you to define different bow stroke intensities (soft attack, immediate attack, accented attack). The sustain pedal can be used to add a soft decay to end a phrase. These release samples have been recorded specially.
As is the case with a real string performance, the faster you play the more blurred the intonation will be. These blurred intonation effects are created by specially sampled articulations.
You can switch between different vibrato expressions with a CC of your choice.
Blurred articulations
Untuned and blurred articulations have also been specially recorded – as sonic colours,
these can be blended in to change the individual intonation in a phrase.
String runs
Berlin Strings offers playable runs patches and also pre-recorded octave runs that adapt automatically to your host tempo.
Sections
With Berlin Strings, we opted for smaller section sizes in order to retain the definition and vibrato details in the sampled patches.
Using a number of different crossfading techniques (dynamic layers, legatos fade scripts, vibrato fading) or playing more than one voice often creates a bigger and pad-like undefined string sound. By using smaller sections, we aim to counter this effect, resulting in a detailed, expressive orchestral string section.
